It really isn't that hard to do and with common items you can recycle your own paper in no time!Trash to Treasure Papermaking is all about making your own custom made recycled paper. This book teaches you which kind of paper is best to use, how to make the pulp and then turn it into paper that you can reuse. It might seem like it would be an intimidating thing to try for yourself, but it really isn't that hard. I do suggest using an old or very cheap blender for the pulp though because you really don't want to use it for your food or smoothies after making paper pulp in it. It starts out telling about the nature and history of paper (defined as tiny fibers that are bonded together), as well as common terms associated with it. Mr. Grummer also says that "all and any paper can be recycled, it it can't be recycled it isn't paper". Based on that thought, you can see how any paper product can be re-purposed into a new paper product, which will be more useful and to your liking. There were many possibilities listed of what you can recycle, some of which surprised me: fast food wrappers, junk mail, labels on cans, old phone books, gift wrap and more. The author goes over the basic supplies of what you need, including a blender and a screen or even just a tin can for the simplest method of paper making. Trash-to-Treasure Papermaking is filled with photos and how-to instructions for every step. In addition, there are many extras, like how to... Read more |
